The Himalayan Beacon » SIKKIM: NABARD sanction for Sikkim projects: "Gangtok: The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned Rs.506.13 lakh against a total project cost of Rs.533.23 lakh for the State of Sikkim for implementation of 44 Flood Protection and MI projects under RIDF XVI. The projects sanctioned relate to 7 Anti Erosion Works, 3 Catch Water Drains, 27 Jhora Training Works, 3 Protective Works and 4 Minor Irrigation Channels in four districts of the State.

With this, the cumulative sanction under RIDF XVI during the year 2010-11 aggregates to Rs.77.69 crore for implementation of 80 infrastructure projects, relating to Flood Protection & Minor Irrigation (47 projects), Rural Roads (23 projects), Rural Market Infrastructure (5 projects) and Rural Drinking water Schemes (5 projects) in the rural areas of
