How do i unlock my router so it wouldnt be secured... | Answerbag: "go to. 192.168.1.1 you will be asked for a user name and password. Leave the user name blank, and put admin in the password field. That will take you to the info that you put in the first time you set up a secure connection. Just delete the password information that you had previously inserted, now it will be not be secure. If the number you put into the address bar doesn't do anything, that info will be in your owners manual."

1) Go to your router settings....

Go to http://ipchicken.com. Should see a number like this 82.99.72.285. Copy it and paste it in your address bar. Once done it should come up with a box asking for your Username and Password, type the information in, if you do not know it look on the bottom of your router or contact your ISP.

2) Go to Wireless Settings or (Wireless) Security Options....

Now it should come up with a list like:

Security Options

Disable
WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy)
WPA-PSK (Wi-Fi Protected Access Pre-Shared Key)
WPA2-PSK(Wi-Fi Protected Access 2 with Pre-Shared Key)
WPA-PSK+WPA2-PSK
WPA-802.1x
WPA2-802.1x
WPA-802.1x+WPA2-802.1x

3) To disable your security, click DISABLE. However your Network is more likely to be used by many people as it has no security, more likely for Viruses too.
